“I first began working with Bonita regarding my business, On Occasion Catering and Events, five years ago. She gives me sound advice, making it easy to understand and implement. My business has grown from a catering business in my home, to opening a 2,500 sq. ft. commercial kitchen in Palatine, IL. Through hard work and Bonita’s support, I’ve created a phenomenal business that grows and changes every year.
In October 2010, I worked with Bonita because I wanted to achieve a sales goal, but wasn’t quite sure how to go about it. It was a big number for us— $30,000. Holiday sales were more sluggish than I liked, and I wanted to breathe some life into my business’ growth over the holidays, and heading into 2011. I had also created a new gourmet dessert line, Fat Bottomed Girls, and wanted to promote this brand more heavily. The problem was I knew I wanted to generate revenue, but I wasn’t quite sure how to go about organizing activities I need to do to achieve the goal, with all the different parts of my business (pastry line, catering, corporate team-building events, special meeting and kitchen space rental).
So, the goal was set of increasing sales by $30,000. Bonita suggested I add a timeline to the goal of 60 days. We sketched out a business model plan together, set goals for sales for each of the segments of my business. Then, we drafted an implementation plan. We charted our goals and achievements where they were visible on a daily basis.
60 days later, I exceeded the $30,000 goal and my sales ended up being $ 32,514!! I am absolutely sure that Bonita’s strong suggestion of having not only a goal, but a goal that is measurable, made all the difference.”
